謎解きバスツアー a fun local bus tour

Yesterday was the last day of my children's summer vacation.
A final exam awaits my daughter but
never mind, we wanted to do something fun!!

We decided to participate in a local bus tour.

At Takayama bus station,
we received a "tour set" which contained

1. one day all we can ride bus ticket
2. drink coupon
3. city map & bus time schedule
4. hand fan
5. postcard
6. directions and riddles sheet
7. hints and tips sheet

So exciting!!

We were to solve the riddles
by following the directions and by traveling to whatever bus stops
the riddles lead us to.

We really enjoyed solving the questions.
The only thing was that we should have started the tour
in the morning.  It was a pity we had to rush a bit at the end!!

It was a boiling day yesterday, too
but kids surely were able to spend a memorable day.

The exam?? 
She will just take it easy as usual.  : )

今日から新学期スタートです。
夏休みの終わりはいつもいつもさみしいものです。
（子供たちだけでなく、私も）

前期後期制をスタートさせた高山、
今日は新学期の始まりではありません。
残酷なことに夏休み明けの今週、娘には
期末テストが待ち受けています。

ですが！！せっかくの最後の日、
楽しいことをしよう！と地元のバス会社
濃飛バスのバスツアーに参加してみました。

バスツアーと言いましても、
参加キットをいただいて、それぞれバラバラに行動するものです。
その名も「濃飛バス 謎解きゲーム」

まずは謎解きセットを購入
１．バス一日乗車券
２．ドリンククーポン
３．地図＆バス時刻表
４．ミニうちわ
５．ポストカード
６．問題シート
７．ヒントシート

こちらがかわいいファイルに入っていました。
なんだかわくわく。

謎を解きながら、バス停からバス停へ移動し、
最後の回答を探し出す形式です。

あーーー、朝出発にすれば良かった。
降りたバス停で、ゆったりし過ぎたりして　笑
最後はドタバタになってしまいました。

夏休みの最後の日だというのに
昨日も30℃越えの暑い高山でしたが、
充実した一日を過ごすことができました♪

え、期末テスト？？
まあ、彼女のことですから
直前まで彼女のペースでのんびりと
その日を迎えることでしょう。

帰国しました！ arrived home

my daughter just returned from France!!
（surprisingly she has no jetlags!)

たくさんの写真と
たくさんのお土産話と共に
フランスより、娘が元気に戻ってきました。
（時差ボケも全くなく、元気過ぎる娘にびっくり）

フランス コルマール Colmar, France

Takayama and Colmar, France has agreed on
an economic and tourism partnership
several years ago.

Guesswhat?
My daughter right now is in Colmar France
as a reward for winning the speech contest
which was held at the end of May this year.

I said she won the contest, she did not win the firt place
but she was luckly selected as one of the many representatives
who got their tickets either to Denver, US
Colmar, France, or Lijiang, China.

She now is in Paris, soon will take the train to Colmar,
a commune in Alzas region close to the border of
Germany and Switzerland.

She has worked so hard and finished the massive
homework for the summer vacation and left
Takayama to enjoy this trip.

One week seems really short for such a long-distant-trip
but I guess it's a good start.

Can't wait to hear what she has to say
about this whole adventure.

数年前、高山市はフランスのコルマールと
経済観光協定を結びました。

なんと、そのフランスに娘が行っております。
5月に開催された、英語スピーチコンテストで
海外派遣員に選んでいただけたのです。

アメリカはデンバー、フランスはコルマール、
中国は麗江の中から、第一希望をフランスに掲げ、
ありがたいことに希望が叶った形になりました。

現在はパリにいますが、間もなく列車にて
コルマールへ移動予定です。羨ましいーー。

コルマールは、フランスの東、ドイツ国境と
スイス国境に程近いコミューンです。

山ほどある、夏休みの宿題を終わらせ、
意気揚々と出掛けていきました。
帰国したら、おしゃべりが止まらない姿が
容易に想像できます。

約15時間も飛行機で移動して、
たった一週間の旅、とても短く感じますが
よいスタートなんでしょうね。

来週辺り、彼女が持ち帰る写真をアップできたらと
思っております。

かき氷 shaved ice

My son and daughter looooves shaved ice.

(especially my daughter)

For them, it doesn't even have to to be summer

whenever they have a chance, 

they make their own or buy their favorite shaved ice.

For me, I hadn't had shaved ice for years.

I had enjoyed a scoop or two of my kids

but never bought my own.

This year, because of the heat,

I had to have my own!!

And in fact, I've had several already!!

夏以外の季節にも、機会があれば

「かき氷～♪」と

自分で作ってみたり、外で食べたりしています。

私自身は、

子供から、一口、二口もらう程度で、

自分で丸ごと食べることはほとんどしませんでした。

ただ、今年は違います。

暑すぎます。

自分専用が欲しいのです。

あまりチャレンジしていなかった

高山でのかき氷、今年は何度か行きました～。

七夕 star festival

Takayama is celebrating the "star festival" today
on the 7th of August!!

Just like other festivals, the boy's and girl's festivals,
Takayama's star festival comes one month later than other
regions in Japan.

For the first time in four years
I found out that, neighbors of Takayama who live
close to Miya-River, celebrate the star festival
with such special decorations as the ones posted below.

They are so unique and special!!

I asked the men who were decorating them
and they told me that the neighbors will be gathering
soon after and enjoy their afternoon drinking and eating!!
Nice!!

今日は高山の七夕です♪

桃の節句や端午の節句同様、七夕も一か月遅れの高山です。

そして、高山へ引っ越して間もなく四年の今日、
初めて遭遇した、下の写真のような飾り。

飾りつけ中の男性に尋ねたところ、
宮川沿いにお住まいの方々（町内の方々）皆さんで
飾りつけをして、今夜、
飲んで、食って、七夕を祝うそうです。
わぁ、ステキ♪
