Hi from Takayama

I'm Sanae. I have lived in Takayama for 4 and a half years starting Oct. 2014 till March 2019. I enjoyed living in such a beautiful city surrounded by mountains. Here is a blog that shares the happy times I had in Takayama.

My new place is Anjo, Aichi, but I'm too much in love with Takayama, I will continue adding some more infos about Takayama, plus I will be adding some updates about my new place as well.

Also, my life has been about "moving" everywhere!! Believe it or not, this was my 14th time to move and I thought there are a lot to share about my "moving life." There are some special things that I see and experience by living in different cities not just in Japan but in other countries as well!!

Cheers to new findings!!

Jack-in-the-pulpit

On the way back home after the river walk on May 3rd,
we took the mountain route and
enjoyed observing the plants and flowers!!

It's always fun to take photos of the beautiful flowers,
look for the names and learn about it afterwords with kids.

we found out that the green flower is a species of Jack-in-the-pulpit

    1. Hi Tomo,
I was wondering too why its Japanese name is called "mamushi gusa." I found out that it is because the pattern of the stem somewhat looks like mamushi. I didn't take an up close shot of the stem so we can't really tell. I believe, that kids should learn as much as they can in actual life than just on text books. They need to sense things by seeing, touching, and smelling as well, don't you think? Also, I make them walk a lot because I don't want them to reach the destination in an easy way. But of course, I do it only when I have time!!
