今週の刺身♪ this week's sashimi!!

We are now a big fan and a supporter of
the fish market that have opened near us.

We have been visiting the market every weekend!!

Last week we bought a huge sea bream
and baigai (Japanese babylon).

It was our first time to try "baigai."
To tell the truth, I personally enjoy cooked shellfish
rather than having them raw (sashimi).
But this one was surprisingly delicious!!

The owner will happily prepare all the fish into sashimi
or in any other way we like with no extra charges at all.

Saturday or Sunday is now a seafood day for us.
Can't wait till next weekend!!

結局毎週のように通ってしまっています。
近所にできた魚屋さんへ。

先週のご馳走は
タイとバイ貝の刺身♪

バイ貝を食べるのは初めてでした。
本音を言うと、貝類は調理して食べる方が好きなんです、私。
でも、バイ貝の刺身、
とーーーーっても美味でした。

店主さん、
いつも、美しく魚をさばいてくださいます。
たまには自分でチャレンジしてみたい気もしますが
せっかくの魚をフルにおいしくいただくためには
やはりお願いするのがベストですよね　笑。

土曜日・日曜日は海の幸デーになってしまっています。
来週も楽しみだなぁ。

 

釣り～ fishing

We went fishing last week
to Noto Peninsula located in the Sea of Japan.

We are not frequent fishers
so we simply went to a fishing park
where we can rent all the utensils we need.

Our kids are brave enough to
cut the worms into tiny pieces,
so they did everything on their own
putting their own worms on their hooks.

Well, the result was
we caught 5 fish in total,
my husband got 2
and the rest got 1 each : )

What a happy ending!!

They were all such tiny fish
but we enjoyed eating them!!

We are so grateful
that both our daughter and son has grown
and that
they are able to enjoy fishing safely by the sea.

We had so much fun,
we should perhaps become more frequent fishers!!

先週、能登半島で釣りをしてきました。

「釣り人」ではない我らなので、
道具が一式借りられる海釣りセンターにて、
竿を借り、エサも購入して挑みました。

我が家のキッズ、
エサの青イソメを細かくちぎることが
できちゃうのです　笑。
なので、エサ付けから釣りあげるまで
全て自分でできちゃいます。
（一番の問題は魚が釣れた後ですねー）

結果は、、、
夫　⇒　2匹
その他　⇒　1匹ずつ
アハハ、なんとかわいらしい、
そしてハッピーエンディングなのでしょう。

釣れた魚の中で食べられる魚は
メジナとイシダイのみ。
しかも、とーーーーっても小さな魚たちでした。
でも、バーベキューでおいしくいただきましたよ。

何よりも
子供たちが大きく成長して
海に落ちる事なく（笑）安全に釣りを
楽しめたことに感謝です。

たった5匹の小さな魚が釣れただけでしたが、
とにかく楽しかった♪
また行かなくちゃ～。

A friend came over!!
It was such a beautiful day
so we just picked up our tiny tent and
had a picnic at the sky park.

Kids had the loveliest time
doing jump ropes under the big blue sky.

子供の友達が遊びに来てくれました。
あまりにも天気が良かったので
慌てて準備をして
スカイパークへ行ってきました。

どこまでも広く青い空の下でする縄跳び、
なんとも贅沢ですよね。

美しい空へ

高く
のぼっていきました。

田んぼが好き♪ love rice paddies♪

Our kids, a third grader and a sixth grader,
they only have limited time to play after school
since they get tons of homework.
And guess how they spend their precious free time?
A lot of times, they are out at the neighbor rice paddies
catching tadpoles : )

When they're out there,
I'm there, too : )

Probably,
I'm the one who enjoys frogs and tadpoles the most, ha-ha.

我が家の三年と六年のキッズ、
放課後は宿題が山盛り、、、。
宿題以外の限られた時間をどのように過ごすかと言いますと、、、
この時期は、毎日のように近所の田んぼに出没！
おたまじゃくしキャッチングばかりしています。

彼らが田んぼにいる時は
私もそこにいることが多い　笑。

おたまじゃくし＆カエルキャッチングを
一番楽しんでいるのは
恐らく私　うふふ。

虹 rainbow

Perhaps it's the tendency these days,
but besides that, the weather changes quite rapidly
here in Takayama because we're in the mountains.

A sunny moment may suddenly seize
and dark clouds will appear bringing heavy rain,
then again a bright sunshine peaks from the clouds.
Such weather is quite common here.

What this brings us
is beautiful rainbows!!!
I think I have mentioned this previously
but we very often find rainbows here,
sometimes it is single,
sometimes we find double rainbows,
and we even find the rarest one,
a rainbow that looks like it's upside down,
the circumhorizontal arc!!!

Lucky us!!

最近の天気の傾向なのかもしれません、
ただ、高山はもともと「山の天気」、
短時間であっと言う間に
空模様が変わってしまうことがしばしばあります。

快晴かと思ったら
どこからともなく黒い雲が表れ
あっと言う間に大雨、
そして、次の瞬間また日が差してくる
なんていう天気はしょっちゅうです。

このくるくる変わる天気のお陰で
こちらに来てから
非常に頻繁に目にするものが、
そう、「虹」です♪
時にはダブル、
そしてとてもめずらしい逆さ虹
「環水平アーク」まで！！！

なんだかいいことがありそう♪
