赤かぶ red turnip

Red turnip pickles are one of the most
famous local taste of Takayama!!

In fact, I think there are many people
who think of "red turnip pickles" immediately
when hearing the name Takayama.

Various red turnip pickles are
actually being sold in every souvenir shops.
Red turnips pickles with salt,
with vinegar and sugar
with soy sauce and so forth.

There are tons of things which are being sold
as local tastes that are simply for tourists,
BUT red turnips pickles are surely loved by the locals.
Here is a photo of pickles section of a local supermarket!!
I'm 100 % sure there are no other place throughout Japan
with such huge collections of red turnip pickles!!

高山のお土産で有名な赤かぶ漬け、
「高山と言えば赤かぶ」をすぐに
連想する方も多いのではないでしょうか。

土産店を訪れると
塩漬け
甘酢漬け
醤油漬け
など、様々な赤かぶに出会います。

全国各地、
土産店で取り扱っていても
本当に地元の方々は食べているの？
と疑いたくなるような物がたくさんあります。

しかし、
赤かぶ漬けは、間違いなく「地元の味」なのです。

赤かぶ漬けがこんなに充実したスーパーは
飛騨エリア以外には存在しないでしょう　笑。
