"Hida-Takayama Big Arena."
It's only a 5-minute-ride by car,
and it will only take about 20 minutes,
if we want to walk from our place.
But the problem is that we will have to climb up a rather steep hill
that makes it difficult for us to get there by bike.
There is a gymnasium,
athletic field,
baseball field,
training rooms,
"budo (Japanese martial arts)" gym
and so forth in the facility.
We went for an afternoon walk around the facility,
picked some huge pine cones,
enjoyed the evening breeze and the nice view
from the fields!!
A wonderful facility to enjoy sports.
But don't forget,
these fields will be completely covered in thick layers of snow in a few months.
Running around the tracks, playing baseballs and soccer
are only possible for a limited time here in Takayama!!
飛騨高山ビッグアリーナという、スポーツ施設があります。
家から車で５分、歩いても２０分ほどで行けるので便利です。
ただ、小高い所にあるため、
自転車で行くには少々キツイのが難点でしょうか。
体育館

トレーニングジム
武道場などが
施設内にあります。
先日、学校から帰宅した子供たちと散歩をしに出かけ
大きな松ぼっくりを拾ったり
フィールドからの最高の景色を楽しみました。
でも、
想像してみてください。
数か月後には真っ白になってしまうんです！！
高山では、陸上も野球もサッカーも、限られた期間にしか
できないのです！！
Oh this pkace is very good. I think your family enjoyed play wolking.At Takayama have cold season more than Nagoya. I think Takayama have many probrems.For example snow. Do you have snow tools? Or do you have to buy snow tool?

Don't worry Tomo, I understand what you mean!! Snow is always a problem in terms of having to shovel them every morning and also it is troublesome for adults who needs to get to work on time, BUT despite these problems, snow always brings us a kind of "waku waku" even to us adults, don't you think? I think everyone in Takayama loves snow!! Cold but exciting!! Snow makes beautiful scenery too!! Of course, every households own various kinds of snow removing devices from simple shovels to automatic ones and they are quite costly but I think people of Takayama are getting along with the coldness and snow. And the cold winter and tons of snow makes the warmth of spring more precious. People of Takayama know the harshness and the beauty of nature more than anybody else, I guess!! I hope I've answered your question!!

雪かきや、雪の中の通勤は大変だけど、雪は何故だか大人にとっても「わくわく」を運んでくれるもの。高山の人は雪が好きなんだと思う。もちろん、各家庭で、雪かき用のシャベルや除雪機など、費用のかさむものを所有せざるを得ないけど、みんな雪とうまく付き合い、雪と仲良く暮らしている気がするよ。自然の過酷さと美しさを誰よりも実感しながら暮らしている人々だと思います。どうかな、答えになったかな？
