Takayama is ready for the spring festival next week
(April 14th and 15th)

Remember,
we had a rainy spring festival last year.

We are calling the two, big festivals
"spring festival" and "autumn festival"
to make things easier.

But each festivals are of different shrines.

Spring festival is a festival of Hie Shrine

that is located near Shiroyama
and is the festival of southern half of the town area.

Autumn festival is a festival of Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine
of the northern half of the town area.

It rains again this year, that means that the southern half of the town,
the Hie Shrine will not be able to have the
festival floats parade around the town for two years in a role.

Since it seems like we will be having cherry blossoms blooming perfectly
on festival days, I truly hope to view the procession this year!!

春の高山祭が来週に迫っています。

覚えてますか？
去年の春は両日とも雨だったんです。
（雨の山王祭）

春の高山祭、
秋の高山祭と
総じて読んでいる二つのお祭りは
異なる神社のお祭りです。

春は町の南半分の氏神様「日枝神社」
秋は北半分の氏神様「桜山八幡」の例祭です。

すなわち、
今年も雨が降ってしまうと
二年連続で、屋台の曳き揃え、行列、夜祭が見られなくなってしまうのです。

しかも、今年は完璧なタイミングで
桜が満開に向かっています。

桜と御巡幸のコラボレーションが見たいな～。
