秋散歩 autumn stroll

Starting now until the end of November
it is definitely the best season to take a stroll
around the town.

The autumn colors come earlier than other regions
and the colors really vary depending on the year
so every single year,
every time we had the time,
we went off to take a stroll along the Higashiyama Walking Course
or drove a little to Kiyomi (Seseragi Kaido) to
enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves.

Actually, the trees along the Miyagawa Morning Market
are so beautiful as well.
If you don't have the time to visit other places
you should at least enjoy the colors at the market!!

Gosh, I started selecting pictures of each year
and there were too many I wanted to share with you.
Be ready, there're a lot!!

これから11月末頃までは
とにかく秋散歩を楽しむべし！です。

高山滞在中、何度
東山遊歩道、清見方面（せせらぎ街道）を
秋散歩したことか。
最高な天気の１日を選んで
散歩することができたあの頃は
とても贅沢でした。

時間がない場合は
宮川を訪れてください。
こちらの紅葉も個人的にかなりオススメです。
様々な木々が植えられていて、
紅葉のカラーも色々！
鍛冶橋、弥生橋、不動橋からの
眺めは最高ですよ。

宮川朝市のたこ焼き don't miss the takoyaki at Miyagawa Morning Market

From today on, I will be writing posts about our
favorite places that we visited so often while we were in Takayama.

To start out,
I will be introducing our favorite Takoyaki stall
located in the Miyagawa Morning Market!

You will find takoyaki everywhere while traveling in Japan
and I'm sure you have wondered what that ball-shaped snack is?
Or you may already be a big fan of our popular snack, takoyaki!!

In any case, don't miss the takoyaki while having a morning stroll
along the Miya-River in Takayama.

The lady who makes and sells takoyaki is called "Mariko."
She is a very, very friendly woman and makes the best takoyaki!!
She uses local leak and octopus that comes from the Sea of Japan.

Many locals visit her plus tourists from around the world
enjoys her delicious takoyaki!!
She even has repeat guests from overseas.
Isn't that amazing?

We had her takoyaki so many times.
We just cannot pass the stall without having it : )

It has been 4 years she opened the stall
at the Miyagawa Morning Market, she says.

We have so many good memories with her!!

今後少しずつ、
高山の大好きな場所を再度紹介していきたいと思います。
あ、私のブログですので、食べ物関連が多くなりそうです。
（その他の観光スポットも入れなくちゃですね　笑）

まずは、
宮川朝市のたこ焼きさごうさん！！

たこ焼きと言えば関西！のイメージですが、
こちらのたこ焼きも是非トライしてくださいね。
飛騨ネギと能登のたこを使用したなんとも贅沢なたこ焼きが
とっても低価格で食べられるのです。

たこ焼きを作っているのは、佐合（さごう）真理子さん
笑顔が素敵でフレンドリーな元気印の真理子さん
地元ファンも大勢いて、おしゃべりしたくても
なかなか真理子さんにたどり着けないこともしばしばです。
そして、地元ファンだけでなく世界各国から
リピーターさんもいらっしゃるくらいの人気ぶりなんですよ。
私も、海外のお客様と何度も訪れました。

朝市でお店をオープンして４年が経つそうです。

私が、高山を離れて寂しいと思うこと、
それは、当たり前のように毎日お会いしていた
真理子さんのような地元の方々との何気ない日々の会話が
できなくなってしまったこと。
でも、いつお邪魔しても明るく迎え入れてくださり
感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

高山を訪れた時には是非寄ってみてくださいね！

わたしたちの夏 our summer

So!!  We're back in our regular life.
I mean for us,
we don't even know what a "regular life" is
since everything is so irregular.

Summer vacation is over,
my daughter is getting ready for her "Sports Day"
my son zooms to the park every single day after school.

The summer was hot (still is)
the summer was exciting,
the summer was full of great experiences
and I guess that's what summers should be.


You look at the weather forecast and you see similar numbers
for the highest temperature of Takayama and here (Anjo, Aichi).
You think, oh well, Takayama is hot too.
Yes, it gets quite hot during the day in Takayama.

BUT, the heat that you feel is obviously so different.
For one thing, we enjoy walking around even in the midst of the day
in Takayama. 
It's hot but it's all right.  We can rest in the shade and it's bearable.
Here, we kind of feel a bit of danger walking around during the
hottest time of the day.

My son was saying, "the tap water is so cold in Takayama!!"
Yes, it's true.  Even during the hottest season, the water remains so cold.

We were worried whether our kids can survive the boiling summer in Aichi,
but they are doing fine.  Kids have such a high ability to adapt to
new environments.

We heard there will be several autumn festivals at neighboring shrines. 
We surely miss the big, famous Takayama festival
but can't wait to visit the festivals here as well!!

ブログも長い夏休みをいただいてしまいました。

先週から普通の生活に戻っております。
普通じゃないことが溢れている私たちにとっては、
「普通の生活」の定義が定まらないところではありますが。

とにかく夏休みが終わってしまいました！
娘は運動会の練習に励み
息子は下校後公園へ走る日々です。

暑い夏（未だに）
興奮の夏
色々経験した素敵な夏でした。

先日も書いた通り、
私の第二？第三？第四？の故郷高山で一週間過ごしました。
（その後、もう一か所の故郷も訪れました）
数字で見る天気予報の最高気温は同じに見えますが
体感する暑さは全く種類が違います。
高山の場合は、まだ外で過ごす気になれますから。
息子は「高山は水が冷たい！」と改めて感動していました。

こちらは少々危険を感じる暑さです、、、。
でも、子供達は元気に毎日外で過ごしております。

いよいよ秋、こちらでも、あちこちの神社でお祭りがあるそうで
今から楽しみにしております。

楽しい夏よありがとう。そろそろ去ってくれないかなぁ　笑

and that is why I don't have the time to update my blog.

We spent the whole week in Takayama
on the very first seven days of kids' summer vacation.

We met our friends,
we visited our favorite morning market shops
and had so much fun there!!!

Hydrangea was still beautiful in Takayama!

with such a friendly attitude!!!

夏を満喫し過ぎているのでしょうか。
そういうことにしておきましょう。

子供達の夏休みが始まってすぐに
早速高山へ行ってきました。

親しい友人に会い
大好きなお団子屋さん、
朝市の方々にもお会いしてきました！！！

まだまだ紫陽花がキレイに咲いていましたよ。

私たちのことをすっかり
甘やかしてくださった＾＾大好きな大好きな方々との時間は
あっと言う間に過ぎました。

また行くからね～。
