田舎みちサイクリング countryside biking
I had been wanting to update several posts
the last week but I just did not have the time
to sit in front of my PC.
I'm sure "smartphoners" will easily and quickly
update a blog using their smart one in just a few minutes
BUT I'm quite sure I will never be able to do that...
Anyways, I will try harder to be a frequent "updater"
I mean,
perhaps post a short ones just to let you know
what's happening around here.
My husband and I went to a quick 12 km biking
at the end of October.
It is quite hard to find a "flat road" in this region
and we certainly need more training to do a longer one.
But even a 6 km biking (one way) will take us
to such a beaaaaaautiful sight!!!!
We want to do it more often before it starts snowing.
もっと頻繁に記事を上げたいんです！
色々溜まっております。紅葉のピークですし！
ただ、ＰＣの前にゆっくり座る時間がないのです！
「スマートフォンを使いこなしている方々」ならば
あっっっっと言う間に、ブログ更新もできるのでしょう、、、。
私にはそんな日は来ない気がしております。
短くてもいいから
「高山の今」をお伝えできるように、がんばりまっす！
10月末に、主人と軽～い12 kmのサイクリングをしました。
12 kmもの平らな道はもちろん高山には存在しないので
距離を伸ばしたい場合は、もっとトレーニングが必要です 汗。
でも、片道たったの6 kmでも
こんなにも美しい景色が楽しめるので、高山は最高です☆
雪が降り出す前に、もう少し色々行きたいな。

雨の多い秋 rainy autumn
We're having a rare, rainy autumn this year.
Usually, the weather of autumn is quite stable in Japan.
And we have lots of events going on during autumn.
But, this year we're obviously having too many rainy days.
For me, right now living in Takayama,
autumn is a precious time
to finish lots of things and get prepared
before the long winter to come.
But this year, it seems that things are piling up, oh no.
Anyways,
I'm spending the busiest days
because it's Halloween!!!!
That is why I hadn't been able to update my blog
for such a long time.
Fortunately,
I now have several friends in the neighbours
who are helping me out giving candies to the kids!!
Although it's not Halloween yet,
we already had one party,
and we're waiting for the actual Halloween night to come☆
Halloween is spreading here in Takayama, too.

高山に住んでいる現在、
秋の晴天は、いつにも増して貴重なのに、、、
やりたいことが山積み、、、
本当は大掃除も秋のうちに済ませたいところです。
そうなんです、
ハロウィーン間近で
恐ろしく忙しい日々を過ごしております。
ありがたいことに
協力してくださるご近所さんがいらっしゃり、
子供たちは暗くなってから、外をドキドキワクワクしながら歩き
お菓子をいただいてくることができました♪
約40年前、アメリカで経験したハロウィーン、
日本でもこんなに盛り上がる日がくるなんて
思ってもいませんでした。
高山でも少しずつ広まっておりますよ～☆

またまた釣り～ fishing again!!
It's just great!!
It's possible to go fishing to Noto Peninsula
and come back in one day!
It was a cold and cloudy day
but we spent several hours
struggling to get fish for our dinner : )
We were too hungry by the time we arrived home
that the last picture we took was the one on the plate.
My son was aiming for a 300 kg tuna
but the largest fish we got was 20 cm!! ha-ha.

能登半島まで日帰りで
釣りに行けちゃうんです♪
寒くて風の強い日でしたが、
時が経つのも忘れ
夕食の食材を釣るのに必死な４人だったのでした。
帰宅後は
空腹過ぎて、調理前の写真が最後、、、。
息子は300キロのマグロを釣っちゃおうかなぁ！と
張り切っていましたが
釣れた最大の魚はウマヅラハギ20センチでした ちっさ 笑。

紅葉始まってます♪ autumn colors are here!!
Last week there was a "Track and Field Meet"
of all the 6th Graders of Takayama City and Shirakawa Village.
On the way to the stadium,
I found beautiful autumn colors!!
Are you asking how my daughter did on her 200 m race?
Never mind the result,
she is a type who enjoys cheering others more than racing herself, ha-ha : )
先週、高山市・白川村全６年生が参加する陸上競技会が行われました。
スタジウムに向かう途中に
見つけた美しい色たち。
なんだかすっかり紅葉していて驚きました。
娘の200m走の結果がどうだったか、気になりますか？
まぁまぁ。
娘は、走るよりも応援が好きだそうです 笑

八幡祭 2017 Takayama Autumn Festival 2017
Luckily, we were able to enjoy this year's autumn festival as well.
Festival Floats
Night Festival
Festival Procession
Marionette Performance
Festival Costumes
Festival Food
It is our third year and our fourth year is about to start,
and little by little,
we are getting accustomed to all these things.
Kids, unfortunately, are more interested in what
to buy or what to eat at the festival, rather than
learning about its rich culture.
We have to go back and forth between the food stalls
and the festival floats to satisfy both of our needs.
But still, we all enjoy listening to the festival music,
watching lion dances and the observing beautiful floats
discussing the details and how elaborate they are!!
It is always sad when the Autumn Festival is over
but for kids, it seems that they can't wait for the snow to come.
We, adults, have a lot to learn from them.
2017の秋祭り（八幡祭）も楽しんできましたよ。

少しずつ少しずつこれらに関する知識も増えてきたように思います。
子供たちはというと、祭の文化についてよりも

これの繰り返しです。
でも、お囃子の音に耳を傾けたり
美しい屋台のディテールについて話し合ったり
獅子舞のカッコよさに惚れたり
そんな時間を共有できるのはありがたいことですね。
秋祭りが終わると、一気に寒さがやってくる気がして
寂しくなる大人たちなわけですが、
呑気に大雪を楽しみにしているキッズ。
大人も負けないぞ！

きのこコレクション mushroom collection 2017
Actually, we went out to collect acorns!
We wanted to make autumn crafts using
acorns and pine cones.
Perhaps, it was a bit early for them.
Instead, we found cute mushrooms!
We didn't have much time,
so our collections is not that huge compared to last year's
but it's always fun to look for cute, beautiful and strange things
coming out of wet soil.
Autumn colors are coming, too.
本当はドングリや松ぼっくりを探しに出たんです。
秋のクラフトを作りたかったので。
まだ少し早かったのでしょうか、
どんぐりや松ぼっくりは
あいにくあまり見つからず、、、
代わりに、かわいいきのこたちを見つけました。
昨年みつけたきのこたちに比べると
数も種類もまだまだですが、
地面を這いつくばるようにして、
かわいいもの、きれいなもの、かわったものたちを
見つける楽しさといったらありません！
秋色景色も間もなくですね♪
